Current Year: Senior

Why you’re excited about your new position: The Longhorn Singers carries a rich history and maintains a prestigious standard of quality in the Arts at the University of Texas at Austin. As President, I look forward to leading, by example, my fellow members of this organization to a new semester full of timeless experiences, lifelong friendships, and unparalleled enjoyment. This group of people is more than just a show choir, it is a family that elates happiness and delight with every performance, and I am overwhelmed with excitement to be a part of its journey towards success.
Favorite memory in Longhorn Singers: Every semester, we take in new members of the group, and dedicate an entire week to showing them how incredibly thankful we are for their presence and talent. Each class of NUGIs radiates a distinctive energy throughout the choir that not only boosts the vivacity of the other members, but potentiates the level of success we, as a choir, wish to reach. It would be impossible for me to specify any semester, in particular, as my favorite, as each new member, without fail, brings something special to their audition, but my first semester as a NUGI does stand out as one of my fondest memories in college thus far.
Current Year: Junior
Major/Minor: Double major History/RTF
Hometown: Amarillo, TX
Why you’re excited about your new position: As Vice President, I get to organize many of the events that end up being our favorite memories in Longhorn Singers. Everything that I love about UT can be found in this group, and now I have an opportunity to give back to these people who mean so much to me!
Favorite memory in Longhorn Singers: Oh geez, this one is hard. My top three memories might be my first weekend as a new member in the group, singing opposite the OU Men’s Glee Club in Dallas for TX/OU Weekend (and sounding better, might I add) and performing a Disco medley in our last show- I will never stop gushing about the bell-bottoms I wore for that number!
Major/Minor: RTF & Advertising, Business & Chinese
Hometown: Minneapolis, MN
Why you’re excited about your new position: Graphic design and social media marketing are both things that I have a little experience in due to internships and just being a millenial. This position is so great because it not only allows me to be creative and utilize those skills, it allows me to expand upon them and experience something close to what my life after college would be like!
Favorite memory in Longhorn Singers: My first semester in Longhorn Singers we took our first (and only) tour to Houston. So many things went wrong during that adventure, but it definitely bonded us closer together and is something we can look back and laugh at now!
Current Year: Junior
Major/Minor: Music Studies - Choral Emphasis
Hometown: Fort Worth, TX
Why you’re excited about your new position: Having been in the group for two years, I have only seen a glimpse of what it really takes to make this group function at such a high level. While, in the past, every member contributed in his or her own way, the Executive Board was always the powerhouse behind it all. I am excited to now be able to step into this role and keep the organization running at peak performance and give back to the group to the best of my abilities!
Favorite Memory in Longhorn Singers: During the week of my second show with Longhorn Singers, I remember I was having the worst week ever. All my assignments were due at the same time, and I was struggling in several of my classes, and I was just very much not a happy camper. I came to our dress rehearsal that Thursday, though, and something clicked. I was on stage, dancing with my partner, and there was a dance move where we would just look and smile at each other, and in that moment, seeing the genuine smile on my partner’s face, made being in LHS exponentially better than it already was. It was something very small, but thinking about how happy this group makes me, the others in it, and the people we perform for makes it absolutely priceless. I will never forget that moment, and for the rest of my life, I will truly cherish everything that LHS has ever given me and hope that I can give just as much back to it.
Current Year: Freshman going to be a Sophomore
Major/Minor: Undergraduate Studies
Why you’re excited about your new position: Aside from our love for singing and dancing, Longhorn Singers also has a strong love for friendship. When we get together and hangout outside of rehearsals is when we bond the most! I’m excited to be able to bring the group closer in a social aspect, and have a great time!
Favorite memory in Longhorn Singers: My favorite memory was from my first semester in Longhorn Singers when we traveled to Dallas for TX/OU weekend. From the car ride, to the gigs, to being worn out at the end of the day, it was all so much fun! We spent three consecutive days together and I don’t think there was ever a moment that I wasn’t smiling!
